Chinese pharmaceutical company conference
Sydney hosted the annual conference of a major Chinese pharmaceutical company in November 2007. The city catered for 2,200 delegates, who each pursued both business and leisure activities.
The company’s Managing Director said staff members agreed that the Sydney event was the best conference they had ever attended. The congress culminated in a gala awards ceremony, a glittering event featuring Olympic gold medallist, Ian Thorpe as guest presenter.
Business Events Sydney (BESydney) supported the company at every stage of the event. We assisted with everything, from assisting delegates with the visa application process through to organising value-added duty-free shopping, welcome banners and arranging for Ian Thorpe to attend the gala ceremony.
Throughout the bid process, members of the BESydney office in Hong Kong worked closely with the China-based client to create a tailor-made proposal that would address all of the conference requirements.
In its final presentation to the company, BESydney outlined a detailed itinerary and destination information, as well as value-added services and a video showcasing Sydney and welcoming the conference delegates. Representatives from the Australian Embassy and Qantas also gave a professional presentation, furthering Chinese confidence in Sydney’s ability to deliver a premium result.
In the end, Sydney won the event over competitors Bali and Bangkok because of its beautiful harbour setting, cosmopolitan lifestyle and world famous attractions.
