The Sydney Convention and Visitors Bureau works to win events for Sydney and NSW and to assist meeting planners.

The Sydney Convention and Visitors Bureau (SCVB) is a non-profit joint venture between the New South Wales Government and the tourism industry. We work with organisations to bring national and international events to Sydney and NSW.

We also provide a range of services to help meeting, corporate event and incentive planners, with the support of more than 270 members who represent a range of business event suppliers.

  • Auto Theft Investigators to visit Sydney

Sydney has managed to woo the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI) annual training seminar away from North America for one of the few times since 1997.

The five-day event runs from 3-7 August 2008 and is expected to attract 350 delegates and 15 exhibition booths. The seminar is worth an estimated $2.4 million to the city.

The IAATI Board unanimously chose Sydney for the 2008 location. They said Sydney’s bid met all their criteria, and the IAAT Australasian Branch impressed them with their enthusiasm during the Winnipeg seminar in 2006. Find out more.
