Sydney can boast an impressive range of sophisticated conference planning facilities and accommodation, suiting every business meeting style and budget; and supporting groups of any numbers, from 100 up to 5,000.
The Sydney Conference and Exhibition Centre is Australia’s biggest and most successful venue for conferences, exhibitions and business meetings. The purpose-built centre opened in 1988 on Sydney’s beautiful Darling Harbour, at the edge of the central business district.
It was expanded in 1999, and the world-class facilities now include 30 meeting rooms, Sydney’s biggest ballroom (able to accommodate 1,000 guests), as well as a banquet hall and two auditoriums. There are also six exhibition halls with more than 30,000 square metres of exhibition space.
The Centre maintains state-of-the-art audio-visual and information technology facilities, with support services that include an onsite broadcast studio and video production team, electronic voting systems and fibre-optic links for live broadcasts.
Sydney Olympic Park is a 640-hectare precinct west of Sydney’s CBD. Its development was tailored to meet the needs of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, but since then it has become a centre for business, sporting, cultural, educational and environmental meetings and activities.
In 2007, Sydney Olympic Park hosted more than 2,000 business events, including meetings, conferences and exhibitions. Features include:
